General Info:
Ocean Waves Sunglasses were born under the sunny skies and
high glare of the Florida coast. They were developed and field
tested by fisherman; charter boat captains who fish 250 days a
year for a living. Since they look directly at the water day
in and day out, their eyes receive a lifetime of harmful glare
from both the sun's rays from above, and its refection off the
water. Other sunglasses the fisherman used would darken good
visible light but cause harm by encouraging the pupil to open
without providing adequate protection from the sun's rays.
Other sunglasses also did nothing to lessen the glare. These
fishermen needed sunglasses that would work! We perfected
Ocean Waves Sunglasses by having these fishermen test them
under the most extreme and intense conditions they must
endure. Ocean Waves were honed to perfection and perfection
and testimonials from fishermen started pouring in! Ocean
Waves Sunglasses allow fishermen to see deeper into water
while protecting their eyes from all of the sun's most harmful
rays. No longer must they squint to see what's past the glare.
The superiority of Ocean Waves Sunglasses starts with an
advanced lens design which locates the polarizing film and
mirror (if present) between the thin glass lenses where they
can't be scratched. That's important since a scratch can
render these vital expensive components useless. Glass lenses,
while slightly heavier and more expensive than plastic, are
more scratch resistant and provide superior optical clarity,
so our lens design ensures that you will enjoy your Ocean
Waves sunglasses for a long time.
Polarization is like a chemical Venetian blind which
rearranges light and lets you see "though" glare.
But the degree of polarization in "polarized"
sunglasses can vary from as little as 15% to 99%. We know how
important polarization is to your eyes and that's why we set
the standard. No other sunglass can beat our degree or quality
of polarization...and it shows.
Gray: Great
lens for those bright sunny days. Is the base color on the
offshore blue lens.
Amber: This lens is
better in low light conditions. Is great on those lazy hazy
days of summer.
Offshore Blue Mirrored:
Specially designed for deep sea fishing and boating. Allows
you to see the lines and baits clearly behind the boat, plus
detect objects or fish on top of the water, especially
traveling at high speeds.
Backwater Green: The
best for flats fishing, snow skiing and cloudy days. They are
Amber-Sight-Based, brightening the view into the water and
penetrating the shadows. These are the lenses preferred by
many top fishing guides, who want to achieve the maximum
reduction of glare not light.
